These machines wrap products in shrink film, apply a heat seal, and shrink the film tightly around the product.
Using a semi-automatic shrink wrap machine is simple and efficient. The product is placed on a platform within the shrink film and hand fed into the sealing area. The operator then activates the machine to seal the film tightly, trimming away the excess. The pack is transferred automatically at the end of the sealing cycle into the shrink tunnel. Heat is applied to shrink the film around the product, creating a secure and neat package.
The SLM 4055T shrink wrapping machine offers a monoblock, semi automatic compact L sealer and shrink tunnel. The plan sealing dimensions are 550 mm by 400 mm. The maximum pack height is 150 mm.
Please note that the maximum sealing dimensions must be reduced by half the height of the pack. The service requirements are 415/380 volts 3 phase and neutral 50 Hz 20 amps per phase.

• What products can the machine wrap? Our customers wrap an enormous and varied range of products. Wherever there is a need to display products in a retail environment to offer tamper evidence and show them in the best light, there is a machine and film that we can offer.
• What production speeds can it achieve? – 10 packs per minute and upwards, dependent on pack size. In all cases operator knowledge will be an influencing factor.
• Is it suitable for continuous production? Yes, these are industrial units designed for continuous use. Of course there is a care regime that should be observed to ensure longevity. This is covered during the commissioning process.
• What film can it use? Polyolefin shrink film.
• What product dimensions can it handle? In theory any pack that can fit inside the sealer head can be wrapped. The size of the pack determines the machine size. In some cases a very large pack may require a version of a standard machine that is made to order.
• Does it need compressed air? In most cases, no. However, if the customer needs a pneumatic sealer, then compressed air would be needed. We will offer full guidance.
• What electrical supply is required? Single-phase supply is required for standalone sealers, but for tunnels generally there is a need for three-phase supply. We will offer full guidance.
• How much floor space does it need? Please see the page here on our web site for all dimensions and sizes.
• Can it integrate with existing production equipment? Yes, but this is more usual with fully automatic lines and requires our direct involvement.
• What level of operator involvement is required? –Once the machine has been fed the pack and the operator has activated the sealer head, the machine then completes the process.
• Is installation available? We can deliver machines to the customer's door. We can supply full information regarding connectivity, but ask customers to provide their own electricians to connect machines to power.
• Is operator training available? Yes, for every machine that we supply, we can offer commissioning either in our showroom, via live video call, or on the clients’ premises. This will include machine operation, as well as troubleshooting.
• Is servicing available? We have engineers and can service all equipment that we sell. We can also service third-party machines if the parts are obtainable.
• Are spare parts available? Yes, we carry an extensive range of spare parts in stock.
• Can Kempner help specify the correct machine? Yes, definitely. We just need to know the outcome sought for wrapping, the pack dimensions, and the throughput desired.
• Can customers see a machine operating before buying? Yes. We have machines in our showroom. We keep a representative range of all the machines we sell in our warehouse and demonstration showroom. We can also, if required, arrange visits to existing customers to show our machines in operation.
